Instructions
Prepare the onions
Peel and slice the onions into 1 cm thick rings. Separate the rings carefully.
Make the batter
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Add milk and egg, whisk until smooth.
Coat the onion rings
Dip each onion ring first in the batter, then coat thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs.
Fry the onion rings
Heat oil to 180°C and fry the rings in batches until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
Drain and serve
Remove rings from oil, drain on paper towels, and serve immediately while hot and crispy.
