Homemade Butterfinger candy bars that are even better than store-bought, with a crispy peanut butter center coated in smooth milk chocolate.

Candy Base
corn flakes (crushed)

light corn syrup

Chocolate Coating

Instructions
Prepare corn flake mixture
Crush corn flakes into small pieces and mix with peanut butter until well combined.
Make candy base
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a pot and cook to hard crack stage (149°C).
Add baking soda
Remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda until mixture becomes foamy.
Combine with peanut butter mixture
Pour hot candy mixture over peanut butter and corn flake mixture, stirring quickly to combine.
Shape the candy
Pour mixture into a parchment-lined baking dish and spread evenly. Let cool completely.
Cut into bars
Once cooled and set, cut into finger-shaped bars.
Melt chocolate
Melt milk chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
Coat the bars
Dip each bar in melted chocolate and place on parchment to set.
Storage
Store in airtight container between layers of parchment paper
