Prepare wet ingredients

In a large bowl combine olive oil, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and freshly grated nutmeg.

Activate baking soda

Add baking soda to the fresh orange juice and stir until frothy.

Combine wet mixtures

Pour the orange juice mixture into the oil mixture and mix thoroughly.

Form the dough

Gradually add flour and baking powder, mixing until the dough reaches a firm biscuit consistency. You may need to add a little extra flour.

Shape and coat biscuits

Form small biscuits of desired shape and dip each into sesame seeds.

Bake the biscuits

Place biscuits on a lined baking tray and bake at 160°C until slightly golden (20-25 minutes).

Cool in oven

Turn off the oven and allow biscuits to cool completely inside the oven.
