Prepare ingredients

Slice the onion and scallion. Mince the garlic.

Make sauce

In a bowl, mix gochujang, gochugaru, sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic and 300 ml water until smooth.

Cook rice cakes and vegetables

Add rice cakes, onion and sauce to a pan. Bring to a boil, then simmer 8–10 minutes until rice cakes are soft.

Add fish cakes

Add fish cakes and cook for another 3–4 minutes.

Finish and serve

Add scallions and a drizzle of sesame oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Fridge: 2 days
Reheat: Microwave 2 minutes or reheat in a pan with a splash of water

Best eaten fresh. Rice cakes become chewy after reheating.
