Instructions
Brown the butter
Brown the butter over medium heat until golden brown with a nutty aroma.
Cool the browned butter
Let the browned butter cool until just warm.
Prepare frozen Nutella scoops
Scoop 6 tablespoons of Nutella onto a parchment-lined plate and freeze.
Mix wet ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth, then mix in the egg and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing just until combined before folding in the chocolate chips.
Chill the dough
Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
Form the cookies
Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Flatten each piece, place a frozen Nutella scoop in the center, wrap the dough completely around it, and seal the edges.
Prepare for baking
Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and top with extra chocolate chunks.
Bake the cookies
Bake at 175°C for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
Cool the cookies
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10–15 minutes before serving for the ultimate gooey Nutella center.
