Apple Donuts
Warm, fluffy apple donuts coated in sweet cinnamon sugar - the perfect fall treat with tender chunks of fresh apple in every bite.

Coating

Instructions
Prepare the apples
Peel, core, and grate the apples finely.
Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, combine milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
Combine wet and dry
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in grated apples.
Heat oil for frying
Heat oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C.
Form the donuts
Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
Fry the donuts
Fry donuts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Drain excess oil
Remove donuts with tongs and place on paper towels to drain.
Coat with cinnamon sugar
While still warm, roll donuts in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
