Instructions
Marinate the shrimp
Mix the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a drizzle of oil.
Prepare the garlic butter
Combine softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper.
Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Prepare the bread
Cut the sourdough bread in half horizontally. Optionally remove some of the soft inner part to create a crater for the toppings.
Spread garlic butter on the bread
Generously spread the prepared garlic butter over the cut sides of the bread.
Cook the shrimp
Cook the marinated shrimp in a hot pan for 2 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Set aside.
Cook the onion and tomato paste
In the same pan, add diced onion and tomato paste. Cook until the onion is translucent and the oil turns red from the tomato paste.
Add seasonings to the sauce
Add Cajun seasoning, paprika, and chili flakes to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes.
Add cream and thicken the sauce
Pour in the cream and let the sauce thicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the garlic bread
Spread the Cajun sauce over the garlic bread, top with mozzarella cheese and cooked shrimp. Optionally drizzle extra sauce over the shrimp.
Bake the garlic bread
Bake the assembled garlic bread in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and serve
Remove from the oven and garnish with chili flakes and parsley before serving.
