Instructions
Marinate the shrimp
Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
Prepare garlic butter
Mix softened butter with minced garlic, garlic powder, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Preheat oven
Set oven temperature to 180°C.
Prepare the bread
Cut sourdough bread in half horizontally. Optionally hollow out the soft interior to create a crater for toppings.
Spread garlic butter
Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut surfaces of the bread.
Cook the shrimp
Heat a pan and cook the marinated shrimp for 2 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Prepare the base for Cajun sauce
In the same pan, add tomato paste and diced onion. Cook until the onion is translucent and the oil turns red.
Add seasonings to sauce
Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, and chili flakes. Cook for 2 minutes.
Finish the Cajun sauce
Pour in the cream and let the sauce simmer until it thickens. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the garlic bread
Spread the Cajun sauce over the garlic buttered bread. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, cooked shrimp, and optionally drizzle with more sauce.
Bake the garlic bread
Bake the assembled garlic bread in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and serve
Remove from oven and garnish with chili flakes and mixed herbs before serving hot.
