Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat the oven to 190°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugars
In a large bowl, beat the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
Add dry ingredients
Mix in the flour, baking soda and salt until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips
Gently fold the chocolate chips into the dough.
Scoop cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
Bake
Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
Cool
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
