Oreo Cookies
Classic homemade Oreo-style sandwich cookies with rich chocolate filling between two crisp cocoa cookies.

Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mix dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Shape the cookies
Roll the dough into 2cm balls and place them 5cm apart on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten slightly with your palm.
Bake the cookies
Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Prepare cream filling
While cookies cool, beat together softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth and creamy.
Assemble Oreo cookies
Spread or pipe a generous amount of filling onto the flat side of half the cooled cookies. Top with remaining cookies and gently press together.
