In a Dutch oven on medium heat add butter. Once melted add onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Add garlic and sauté for another minute before adding carrots and flour.

Add broth and seasonings
Stir until combined and add broth and seasonings. Sauté for another 2 minutes.

Add broccoli and milk, stir, then add cheese. Cook on low for 5-7 minutes until broccoli is tender.
