Filipino Beef Caldereta

tomato sauce

Instructions
Prepare the ingredients
Cut the beef into cubes, dice onions, mince garlic, slice carrots and dice bell peppers.
Brown the beef
Heat oil in a pot and brown the beef cubes on all sides.
Sauté aromatics
Add onions and garlic to the pot and sauté until fragrant.
Add tomato sauce and simmer
Pour in tomato sauce, add bay leaves, liver spread, salt and pepper. Simmer covered for 1 hour until beef is tender.
Add vegetables
Add potatoes and carrots. Continue simmering for 15 minutes.
Add bell pepper and cheese
Stir in bell pepper and grated cheese. Cook for another 5 minutes until cheese melts and sauce thickens.
Serve
Serve hot with steamed rice.
