Instructions
Prepare the beef mixture
Combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
Form the patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about 1.5 cm thick with a slight dimple in the center.
Cook the patties
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 71°C.
Toast the buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on the same pan for 1-2 minutes until golden.
Assemble the burgers
Place a patty on each bun bottom, add cheese if using, then layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the bun.
