American Donuts
Ingredients
Dough
all-purpose flour
500 g
milk
250 ml
active dry yeast
7 g
granulated sugar
50 g
butter
50 g
egg
2 pcs
salt
5 g
Coating
granulated sugar
100 g
cinnamon
5 g
Instructions
Activate the yeast
Warm the milk slightly and dissolve the yeast with a pinch of sugar.
Mix the dough
Combine flour, remaining sugar, salt, eggs, softened butter and activated yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic.
First rise
Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
Shape the donuts
Roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness. Cut out circles with a donut cutter or glass.
Second rise
Place shaped donuts on parchment and let rise again for 30 minutes.
Fry the donuts
Heat oil to 175°C. Fry donuts 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
Coat the donuts
Mix sugar with cinnamon. Roll warm donuts in the mixture.
