Viral Dot Cake

Cake Batter
all-purpose flour (room_temperature)

granulated sugar (room_temperature)
200 g
unsalted butter (room_temperature)

large eggs (room_temperature)

Buttercream
unsalted butter (room_temperature)
230 g
powdered sugar
400 g
whole milk
30 ml
vanilla extract
5 ml
Instructions
Preheat oven and prepare pans
Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line two 20 cm round cake pans with parchment.
Make cake batter
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, then alternate adding flour mixture and milk. Mix until smooth.
Bake the cakes
Divide batter evenly between pans and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool the cakes
Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make buttercream
Beat butter until creamy, gradually add powdered sugar, then milk and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.
Assemble and decorate
Level cakes if needed, spread buttercream between layers and over the cake. Pipe decorative dots on top for the viral look.
