Preheat oven and prepare pan

Preheat oven to 175°C and line a 20cm round cake pan with parchment paper.

Cream butter and sugar

In a large bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
