Prepare onions

Slice 5 onions into half rings.

Caramelize onions

Cook sliced onions in butter and olive oil over medium heat until soft. Add salt, pepper, water and balsamic vinegar. Stir occasionally and simmer until caramelized.

Cook beef mixture

Fry ground beef until browned. Add garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, BBQ sauce, tomato paste and water. Mix well and set aside.

Prepare burger dressing

Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, chopped pickled cucumbers, pickle juice, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and paprika. Set aside.

Make garlic butter

Melt butter in a saucepan and stir in paprika, garlic powder and salt.

Assemble burgers

Place bottom bun in a baking dish. Spread burger dressing, add a slice of cheese, sloppy joe meat, another slice of cheese, caramelized onions, sliced pickles and top with burger dressing. Brush top bun with garlic butter.

Bake assembled burgers at 180°C until tops are crispy and cheese is melted.
