Instructions
Prepare the chicken marinade
Mix olive oil, garlic, paprika, cayenne, brown sugar, salt and pepper in a bowl to create the Nashville-style marinade.
Marinate the chicken
Coat the chicken breasts thoroughly with the marinade and let rest for 20 minutes.
Cook the chicken
Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken until golden and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side.
Prepare the vegetables
Slice the onion, tomatoes and cucumber into thin strips.
Warm the pita
Warm the pita breads in a dry pan or microwave for 30 seconds until soft and pliable.
Assemble the shawarma
Slice the cooked chicken and fill each pita with chicken, fresh vegetables and a generous spoonful of yogurt.
