Instructions

Prepare the dough base

In a saucepan, add water, butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat until the butter melts and the mixture comes to a gentle boil.

Add flour and form dough

Reduce the heat to low and add the maida all at once. Stir continuously until a smooth dough forms and starts leaving the sides of the pan.

Cool dough and add vanilla

Let the dough cool for 5-10 minutes then mix in the vanilla extract.

Pipe the churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.

Prepare churros for air frying

Pipe mini churros onto a parchment-lined air fryer basket or tray and lightly spray with oil.

Air fry the churros

Air fry at 180°C for 15-17 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.

Coat with cinnamon sugar

While still hot, toss the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Melt the chocolate with fresh cream until smooth and serve as a dip.
