Instructions
Brown the butter
Heat butter over stovetop until browned, then cool slightly
Mix sugars and butter
Whisk together the sugars, salt and cooled brown butter until combined
Add egg and vanilla
Whisk in the egg and vanilla until light ribbons fall from the whisk
Add dry ingredients
Sift in flour and baking soda, then fold mixture gently with a spatula
Add chocolate chips
Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed
Chill the dough
Form dough balls on parchment-lined baking sheet and chill in refrigerator
Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 177°C (350°F)
Bake cookies
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden around edges
Cool cookies
Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes before serving
