Ingredients

Dough

glutinous rice flour

200 g

water

180 ml

granulated sugar

Nutella

Prepare the mochi dough

Mix glutinous rice flour and sugar in a bowl. Gradually add water and stir until smooth.

Steam the dough

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and steam over boiling water for 15 minutes until the dough becomes translucent.

Knead the dough

Carefully remove the hot dough from the steamer and knead on a surface dusted with cornstarch until smooth and elastic.

Portion the dough

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and flatten each into a small disc.

Fill the mochi

Place 15g of Nutella in the center of each dough disc. Fold the edges over and pinch to seal completely.

Coat and serve

Roll each filled mochi in cornstarch to prevent sticking. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
