Prepare the chicken

Cut chicken into bite-size cubes and place in a bowl. Add egg, soy sauce, and white pepper. Mix well.

Add cornstarch to the bowl and coat the chicken pieces well.

Fry the chicken pieces in hot oil for 1-2 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Prepare the sauce

Heat pan to medium, melt 2 tbsp butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.

Make the honey butter sauce

Reduce heat to low, add soy sauce, honey, sugar, remaining butter, sesame oil, cornstarch slurry, and optional crushed chillies. Stir until thick and glossy.
