7 g
granulated sugar
30 g
butter (melted)
30 g
all-purpose flour
500 g
salt
8 g

Instructions
Activate the yeast
Warm the milk to about 38°C, add sugar and yeast, and let it sit until foamy.
Mix the wet ingredients
Melt the butter, beat the egg, and combine with the activated yeast mixture.
Form the dough
Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet mixture, then knead until smooth and elastic.
First rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled.
Divide and shape
Punch down the dough, divide into 8 equal pieces, and shape each into a smooth ball. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Second rise
Cover the buns and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
Brush and sprinkle
Brush each bun with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
Bake the buns
Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Cool and finish
Remove from oven and immediately brush with melted butter for a soft, glossy finish. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
