Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 175°C and prepare two 20 cm round cake pans.
Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, beat eggs, sugar, milk, oil and vanilla until smooth.
Combine batter
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir until smooth batter forms.
Bake the cakes
Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool the cakes
Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make chocolate frosting
Beat butter until creamy, add cocoa, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.
Assemble the cake
Place one cake layer on a plate, spread frosting, top with second layer and frost entire cake.
