Instructions
Cut the mozzarella
Cut the mozzarella block into ½-inch sticks or squares.
Set up breading station
Prepare three bowls: flour, beaten eggs (add a few dashes of Tabasco if desired), and breadcrumbs.
Bread the mozzarella sticks
Coat each stick in this order: flour → egg → breadcrumbs → egg → breadcrumbs for a double coating that seals the cheese.
Freeze the sticks
Place breaded sticks in the freezer for 30–60 minutes to firm up.
Air fry the mozzarella sticks
Preheat air fryer to 190°C, lightly spray sticks with oil, and cook 10–14 minutes until golden and crispy.
Make the Nashville hot sauce
Whisk together hot sauce, olive oil, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, chili powder, and brown sugar. Microwave 15 seconds to bloom spices.
Sauce and serve
Brush hot sauce over freshly fried sticks while hot and serve immediately for the best cheese pull.
