Prepare the onions

Peel and slice the onions into 1cm thick rings, separating each ring carefully.

Make the batter

Whisk together flour, milk, eggs, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Heat the oil

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C.

Dip each onion ring in batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
