Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) and line a 20 cm square tin with baking paper.

Melt the butter

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over gentle heat.

Mix dry ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the flour and cocoa powder.

Whisk wet ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar and melted butter until smooth.

Combine wet and dry

Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and gently stir until just combined – do not over-mix.

Bake the brownies

Tip the batter into the prepared tin, level the surface and bake for 20–25 minutes.
