Instructions
Prepare oven and baking sheet
Preheat the oven to 190°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the butter
Melt the butter in the microwave or on the stovetop.
Mix wet ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Add dry ingredients
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips
Fold the chocolate chips into the cookie dough until evenly distributed.
Scoop and bake cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
Cool and serve
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
