Cream butter and sugar

In a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add egg and vanilla

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and mix until combined.

Add flour and divide dough

Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms. Divide the dough into two equal portions.

Color the dough

Color one portion of the dough yellow and the other portion black using food dye.

Roll out and chill dough

Place each colored dough between sheets of parchment paper and roll out to even thickness. Freeze for 10 minutes.

Cut shapes and assemble bees

Cut circles from the yellow dough and place on a lined baking sheet. Cut thin strips from the black dough and drape them over the yellow circles to create bee stripes. Shape the stinger, eyes, and curly antennae from the black dough.

Bake at 190°C for 7 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.

Cool and decorate

Let the cookies cool completely. Melt the pink chocolate and pipe small dots on each cookie for rosy cheeks.
