KFC Secret Recipe Fried Chicken

chicken pieces (raw)

Batter & Seasoning
all-purpose flour
300 g
salt
15 g
black pepper
5 g
garlic powder
10 g
paprika
10 g
onion powder
5 g
dried thyme
3 g
dried oregano
3 g
buttermilk
400 ml
vegetable oil

Instructions
Prepare the chicken
Cut chicken into serving pieces if whole.
Marinate in buttermilk
Place chicken pieces in buttermilk and let soak for 30 minutes.
Mix dry coating
Combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, thyme and oregano in a bowl.
Coat the chicken
Remove chicken from buttermilk and coat thoroughly in seasoned flour.
Heat the oil
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 175°C.
Fry the chicken
Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes per batch.
Rest and serve
Drain chicken on paper towels and let rest 5 minutes before serving.
