Caramelized Onion Garlic Spaghetti

Instructions
Cook the pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until al dente.
Caramelize the onions
Heat butter and oil over medium-low heat. Add onions and salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until onions are deeply golden and caramelized.
Add garlic
Add minced garlic to the pan and cook until fragrant.
Add flour
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add chili oil
Add chili oil and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add chicken stock
Pour in the chicken stock, scraping up browned bits. Simmer 1-2 minutes.
Add cream and spices
Stir in the cream and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, red chili flakes and black pepper.
Combine pasta and sauce
Add cooked pasta to the sauce. Toss until coated. Add pasta water if needed to reach desired consistency.
Add Parmesan
Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
Finish and serve
Add parsley and lemon juice. Taste and adjust salt. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan, parsley, and chili oil.
