Instructions
Mix wet ingredients
Combine melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and milk in a large bowl.
Mix dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cornstarch.
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
Add chocolate chips
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped chocolate until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Chill the dough
Place the cookie dough in the freezer uncovered for 30 minutes to firm up.
Preheat the oven
Preheat oven to 177°C (350°F) while the dough is chilling.
Shape the cookies
Scoop 4 tbsp portions for large cookies or 2 tbsp for regular cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the cookies
Bake large cookies for 12-14 minutes or regular cookies for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
Cool and finish
Remove from oven and lightly bang the baking sheet on the counter a few times to create ripples on the edges. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes.
