Heat the oil and start cooking the beef

Heat oil in a large saucepan on high heat. Add beef and cook without stirring for 2 minutes to develop a good sear.

Add onion and brown the mince

Add onion, stir to combine and break up the mince with the back of a wooden spoon. Cook until mince is well browned.

Add tomatoes and garlic

Add tomatoes and garlic, cook for 2 minutes until tomatoes start to break down.

Add spices and simmer

Stir in all spices, reduce heat to medium, cover and cook for 3-4 minutes to let flavors meld.

Add peas and finish cooking

Stir in peas and water, cover, then cook for a further 2 minutes until peas are heated through.

Serve the curry

Serve the spiced mince curry on a bed of steamed rice, garnished with fresh chopped coriander leaves.
