Crispy Honey Butter Chicken

chicken breast or thigh

cornstarch

butter

brown sugar

soy sauce

sesame oil

cornstarch

crushed chilies

Garnish
toasted sesame seeds

Instructions
Prepare the chicken
Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and marinate with soy sauce and white pepper.
Coat the chicken
Dip the chicken pieces in beaten egg, then coat thoroughly with cornstarch.
Fry the chicken
Heat neutral oil in a pan and fry the coated chicken until golden and crispy.
Make the honey butter sauce
In the same pan, melt butter with garlic, add honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil and cornstarch slurry. Stir until thickened.
Coat chicken in sauce
Return the fried chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly with the honey butter sauce.
Serve
Transfer to a plate and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped spring onions.
