Instructions
Prepare the sauce
Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish in a small bowl to create the signature In-N-Out sauce.
Form and cook the beef patties
Form 80/20 ground chuck into two patties and cook on a hot pan or griddle until desired doneness.
Grill the onion
Grill the whole onion on the same pan until caramelized and tender.
Toast the buns
Toast the brioche buns on the pan until golden brown.
Assemble the burgers
Layer toasted bun bottom with In-N-Out sauce, butter lettuce, heirloom tomato, two beef patties, grilled onion, more sauce, and top with the bun.
