Fail Proof Perfect Churros
Ingredients
Dough
water
240 ml
butter
60 g
sugar
15 g
salt

flour
120 g
egg

vanilla extract

Coating
sugar

cinnamon

Chocolate Sauce
dark chocolate

cream
100 ml
Instructions
Prepare the dough base
In a pot, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Add flour
Remove from heat and add flour all at once. Stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides.
Cool and add egg
Let the dough cool for 5 minutes, then beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy.
Heat the oil
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot to 180°C for frying.
Pipe and fry churros
Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe 10-12 cm strips directly into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Coat in cinnamon sugar
While still hot, roll the churros in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon until evenly coated.
Prepare chocolate sauce
Melt dark chocolate with cream in a small bowl over simmering water or in the microwave. Stir until smooth.
Serve
Serve churros warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.
