Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix wet ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the room-temperature egg and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
Mix dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
Combine wet and dry
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep cookies tender.
Fold in chocolate chips
Gently fold the semisweet chocolate chips into the cookie dough until evenly distributed.
Shape cookies
Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies about 5 cm apart. Gently press each cookie to flatten slightly.
Bake cookies
Bake at 180°C for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers still look slightly soft. Rotate the baking sheet halfway if needed.
Cool on sheet
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
