Prepare the steak

Remove the Wagyu steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for optimal cooking.

Season the steak

Generously season both sides of the steak with coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Heat a heavy-bottomed cast iron pan or stainless steel pan over high heat until very hot.
