Instructions
Prepare equipment and ingredients
Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets while gathering all ingredients.
Cream butter and sugars
Beat softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
Mix dry ingredients
Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips
Gently fold chocolate chips into the cookie dough.
Shape cookies
Scoop dough into balls and place on prepared baking sheets, spacing 5cm apart.
Bake cookies
Bake until edges are golden brown but centers are still soft.
Cool cookies
Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
