Cream butter and sugar

Add egg and vanilla
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Form the dough
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
Divide and color the dough
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Add red, yellow, green, and purple food coloring to each portion and knead until colors are uniform.
Shape into button cookies
Roll each colored portion into small balls, then flatten slightly and press a small indentation in the center to create button shape.
Chill the cookies
Place shaped cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes to prevent spreading.
Bake the cookies
Preheat oven to 180°C and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
Cool and serve
Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
