Prepare the onions

Peel onions and cut into 1 cm thick rings. Separate the rings.

Make the batter

In a bowl mix flour, milk, egg, salt and pepper until smooth.

Coat the rings

Dip each onion ring in the batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.

Deep fry the rings

Heat oil to 180°C and fry the rings in batches until golden and crispy, about 3 minutes per batch.
