unsalted butter (melted, browned)

Instructions
Prepare brownie batter
Brown butter for brownie layer, then mix with sugars, egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients.
Prepare cookie dough
Brown remaining butter, mix with brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
Assemble layers
Spoon brownie batter into lined baking pan, then drop cookie dough on top in sections.
Bake brookies
Bake at 175°C until edges are set but center is still slightly gooey.
Cool and slice
Cool completely in pan before slicing into squares.
Storage
Store in airtight container. Can be frozen for up to 2 months
