Instructions
Brown the butter
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma.
Mix wet ingredients
In a large bowl, combine browned butter with both sugars, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Form the dough
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Chill the dough
Cover and refrigerate the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes to develop flavor and prevent spreading.
Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 190°C and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Scoop and bake
Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 5 cm apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
Cool and serve
Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
