Instructions
Activate the yeast
Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a mixing bowl and let it sit until foamy.
Mix the dough
Add flour, salt, egg, honey, and softened butter to the yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
First rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
Prepare the filling
Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a small bowl.
Roll out the dough
Roll the dough into a 25x50 cm rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
Spread the filling
Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
Roll up the dough
Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.
Cut the rolls
Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
Second rise
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
Brush with melted butter
Brush the tops of the risen rolls with melted butter before baking.
Bake the rolls
Bake at 185°C for 20-23 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
Prepare the icing
While the rolls cool, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and butter until smooth, or prepare the simple sugar icing.
Ice the rolls
Spread the icing over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
