Instructions
Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 190°C and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugars
In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
Combine dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Add chocolate chips
Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Portion dough
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 5 cm apart.
Bake cookies
Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden brown but centers are still soft.
Cool cookies
Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
