Caramelized Onion and Garlic Spaghetti

Prepare ingredients
Slice the onion thinly, mince the garlic, and measure out all seasonings. Bring cream to room temperature.
Caramelize onions
Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and jammy.
Cook pasta
While onions caramelize, boil salted water and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve some pasta water before draining.
Build the sauce
Add minced garlic and all seasonings to caramelized onions. Bloom for 1 minute, then add chili crisp. Pour in cream and simmer for 3 minutes before adding Parmesan.
Combine pasta and sauce
Add drained pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. Use reserved pasta water to loosen if needed for silky texture.
Serve
Serve hot with extra chili crisp on top and optional fresh parsley.
