Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks
Crispy, golden mozzarella sticks with gooey melted cheese inside, made quickly in the air fryer with a double-coat method for perfect crunch without deep frying.

Instructions
Prep work
Line a rimmed baking sheet with wax paper. Lightly beat the egg in a wide, shallow bowl. Combine the Italian seasoning, salt, and breadcrumbs in a second wide, shallow bowl.
First coating and freeze
Dip each mozzarella stick into the beaten egg and coat completely, then dip into the breadcrumbs and coat completely. Transfer to the wax paper-lined baking sheet without touching. Freeze for 30 minutes minimum to 1 hour maximum.
Second coating and freeze
Remove sticks from freezer. Dip each stick again into egg, then breadcrumbs. Return to the baking sheet and freeze again for 30 minutes minimum to 1 hour maximum.
Air fry the mozzarella sticks
Preheat air fryer to 390°F (199°C). Spray basket and sticks with nonstick spray. Air fry in batches for 6–8 minutes until exterior is golden and crispy.
Serve
Remove from fryer, let cool just long enough to avoid burning your tongue, and eat immediately.
Storage
After second coating, freeze solid, then transfer to zip-top freezer bag for up to 3 months.
